    One of our favorite hikes in the Northland, this scenic trail follows the Vermilion River as it cascades into Crane Lake, carving a rugged gorge through ancient rock. The well-maintained 3-mile round-trip hike offers a moderate challenge, with historical markers along the way that share the area’s rich past. At the end of your trek, unwind with a meal or drink at the Voyageur Lodge, a perfect reward for your adventure. 3 miles round trip.

  • Echo Trail Exploration

    The Echo Trail winds through some of the most remote and beautiful wilderness in northern Minnesota. Along the way, you’ll discover hidden gems like the Ash River-Kabetogama Lake Trail, where a short but rewarding hike leads to a stunning overlook of the vast boreal landscape.
