Cabin Crashers

Cabin O’ Pines has always made the maintenance and preservation of our aging cabins the highest priority. Protecting the prestige of these vintage accommodations while at the same time keeping up current trends in hospitality and comfort can sometimes be tricky. This fall was no exception with two exciting renovation projects on Cabins 9 “Hilltop” and our largest 3 bedroom “Splitrock”.

Hilltop, our most secluded two bedroom, is getting a full bathroom makeover! The new shower, which has been bumped to the outside of the existing structure, adds needed space to the bathroom. In addition, the cantilevered design allowed for a new shower roof with a built in skylight perfect for star/nature/tree gazing! New paneling will also lighten up the two tree shaded bedrooms on the lakeside of the cabin. Although not completed yet, we’re excited to preview the remodel with lots of great pictures once the project is completed later this fall!

For the second part of this update, we saved the latest project to be completed. Splitrock, which has remained a popular cabin over the years, was due for an update also. This large three bedroom home built during the 1950’s has always flaunted it’s era. With it’s retro yellow counter tops, large picture windows and beautiful exterior rock work, it’s remained a wonderful space for customers to feel right at home in while at the lake. Recently however, with help from a very ambitious design team, Splitrock has undergone a completely new transformation. From where it stood as a typical northwoods retreat, Splitrock now offers all the comforts of being right on the beach! Like a half hour slot right off of the DIY Network, you won’t believe the difference in the warmth and feel of this new beach house cabin. Check out all the before and after pictures of Splitrock right HERE!

Cabin O’ Pines Goes Solar

The solar system is complete and it’s been sunny! With help from the AEOA Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency. Spring 2014 was one of the most exciting yet with the addition of a 48 panel solar system that is located on the south side of the property at Cabin O’ Pines.
